About Bloom'n'Belle
where sustainability meets bespoke and beautiful blooms to create stunning floral displays
I'm Susan Bell, owner of Bloom'n'Belle; the name which derived from a take on my northern saying of 'Blooming Hell' using my surname and the word beautiful. I have spent my career to-date in various roles; currently a Risk and Assurance Director. No surprises, but my role doesn't make people smile or particularly happy! When a close friend asked me what I would have liked to have done, I immediately said 'floristry'. They told me that they could see me doing that. After attending the Bath Flower School, I changed the word 'liked' to 'will' and here I am reaching out to all you amazing people who believe in 'self-love', enjoy sharing love or celebrating those life's special moments.
Why flowers? my memories of growing up was in a garden full of vegetables, fruit and flowers. My dad was a keen gardener, having been raised by his own dad to be self-sufficient and feed off the land. The current and future climate is increasingly becoming a 'concrete world', I believe we should return to the tradition of growing things and stand up to the ever increasing sale of land for development and become sustainable for the benefit of future generations. This is why my core values are on delivering quality flowers that have been sourced locally by people who put their love into growing beautiful British flowers.
What I remember mostly about my childhood garden, was the huge hydrangeas and various types of sweet smelling roses. Like a lot of children, I used to blend the rose petals with water to make myself perfume. My siblings and I had the pleasurable task of shedding peas on the door step, definitely eating more than what we gave to mum to cook.
Flowers have significant meaning, a sense of wellbeing, bringing out all kinds of memories and emotions. One smell of a rose and I'm transported back in time to a little girl playing happily in the garden.
This is why Bloom'n'Belles floristry is different. I do not sell 'off the shelf' bouquets because I believe, like me, everyone has a flower story. I'd love to know yours.
We focus on using seasonal, fresh and vibrant British flowers, curated to you or the recipients style and budget. I want to recreate those memories of a time and place in your life.
